Fort Lauderdale Hospital offers drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation to those suffering from substance abuse issues. We pride ourselves on making our patients as comfortable as possible through a safe, medically supervised detox process that will strongly reduce the pain and discomfort normally associated with drug withdrawal.
Patients are closely monitored during detox by our interdisciplinary treatment team of highly qualified psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, Master’s level therapists and mental health technicians to ensure medical safety and patient comfort. Our programs are equipped to address co-occurring disorders that often accompany the initial drug addiction.
Patients are given an introduction to the 12-step addiction model and are provided with an opportunity to begin their individual 12-step journey as part of their treatment. Group therapy, individual counseling and recreational therapy are provided to all patients. At Fort Lauderdale Hospital, we realize the impact that drug addiction has on, not only the patient, but their entire family too. Family sessions and education with family members are available and highly encouraged as part of treatment.
Multiple 12-step support groups also come to the hospital to show patients different options for continuing treatment outside of the hospital’s plan of action. These options include groups like AA, NA and CA, which are all under the supportive care of the treatment team.
